About Fiona Craig
The subject of Fiona's paintings are visionary concepts created from themes of expressed natural geometries and mythologies. Her painting style is a divergence from the main features of Postmodernism whereby the movement rejects any narrative and replaced them new premises. This fresh perspective of the modern day is in contrast to Fiona Craig’s philosophy by her adoption of features about the world of nature, myth & the symbology of visual expression.
When stumbling upon an experience of life in Australia she discovered the life of the indigenous culture to be highly enriching. Through the Australian indigenous culture she developed cosmogenetic perspectives in art; enjoying imaginative aspects of its narration in nature, legend and the expression of aboriginal universal concepts.
After attending Art and Education classes in schools and colleges in the UK and Australia, Fiona studied at two universities of New South Wales and gained studies in Philosophy and a Bachelor degree in Education. By painting and teaching in schools she became familiar with the ancient mythologies of the Australian indigenous people. Fiona had always related strongly to Spanish Art but on arrival to Spain Fiona she experienced an ability to relate more intensely to its invaluable essence.
